Verify your first domain

Domain verification shows that you control a hostname. Depending on your environment, scans may require at least one verified domain, and targets must sit under a verified hostname.

• You see a message that verified domains are required before scanning.
• You want to align your scanning perimeter with authorized targets.

1. Step 1 — Open Domain

   In the Account group, open Domain, then click Add domain (or open Domain verification from the Scans page link).

2. Step 2 — Enter the hostname

   Type a root hostname or URL (for example example.com), then click Show instructions.

3. Step 3 — Add a proof

   Create either the DNS TXT record or the HTTPS text file exactly as shown. Use Copy when helpful.

4. Step 4 — Check verification

   Click Check verification now. On success, the domain is saved to your account.

You add a TXT record for _protegon…example.com, wait for DNS propagation, then Check verification now succeeds via DNS TXT.

• This check is not a legal certification.
• HTTPS proofs do not follow redirects; the URL must return 200 with the exact token body.
• Some engine-verified domains cannot be removed from this screen.
